2019 OPENING CEREMONIES (Updated 4/13/19)
Our 2019 Opening Ceremonies were a grand success. They were held on Saturday, April 6 - 7pm, at WBLL Park. The weather was perfect and our attendance was one of the largest in recent memory. The Pace High School ROTC and band trumpeters performed our color guard services with an awesome rendition of our national anthem. The benediction was given by Father Gaytan.
On hand to help us celebrate the beginning of another season were friends, families, coaches, and team volunteers of this year's 400+ players. We also had a number of dignitaries from throughout our community in attendance including: Master of Ceremonies Sylvia Garza-Perez, First-Pitch Honoree City Commissioner Joel Mungia, City Commissioner Jessica Tetreau-Kalifa, Mayor Tony Martinez, BISD Board President Minerva Pena, BISD Trustee Erasmo Castro, BISD Trustee Dr. Sylvia Atkinson, BISD Trustee Dr. Prisci Roca Tipton, TSC Board Chair Adela Garza, TSC Board Vice Chair Trey Mendez, and Cameron County Justice of the Peace Linda Salazar.
